Today, people across the country are celebrating love with their sweethearts. Aside from my sweet husband, I am blessed to have so many people in my life who I love dearly. While Valentine's Day is certainly known for hearts, and roses, and mushy-kissy romance, I decided that this year I would have a celebration of love for family and friends as well in the form of a Ladies' Valentine's Brunch. Nothing says lovin' like food in the oven!
I had so much fun creating the menu for brunch. To tell you the truth, a lot of the creating was already done for me! Most of the recipes came from a special edition of Taste of the South magazine dedicated to parties. I hit the recipe jackpot when I found a section called Celebrating with Brunch. Luckily (for me AND for you), Taste of the South has the recipes I used on their website, so I'll be able to give you a direct link to each one. Yay!
I've also hunted down the recipes for the rest of the items on the menu, so I'll link those up, too. Double yay!!
Lots of Love Valentine's Brunch Menu
- Bacon & Cheese Grits
- Sausage Ring (I nixed the Holiday Scrambled Eggs part)
- Blueberry Cream Cheese Braided Loaf
- Apricot Turkey Pinwheels
- Mini Eclairs with Strawberries & Cream (except I used this recipe for the pastry puffs & fresh strawberries)
- Pineapple-Guava Sparkling Punch
- Sweet Leaf Sweet Tea
- Favors: Paula's Almond Sour Cream Poundcake that I posted about, made into heart shapes with a cookie cutter & drizzled with with a basic confectioner's sugar glaze (& heart sprinkles.) :)
My very talented photographer friend from WP inks was in attendance at the brunch, and was sweet enough to snap a few beauty shots of some of my dishes, so I'll leave you with a little peek at the spread!
Well, ok. These aren't edible but they sure are pretty!
Pinwheels!
Let them eat {pound}cake!
Fancy finger food

XOXO!

Fabulous dah-ling!
Wow I'm so going to take some of these recipes and make this Valentine's extra special :)
Yay! Hope your sweethearts enjoy! P.S. If you're thinking of making grits, check out the Creamy Dreamy Grits recipe from The Flying Biscuit Cafe that I posted a while back. Seriously... the BEST.
